[Road to Okinawa: Part 3] Preparation before Departure...

Briefing at JICA Malaysia Office

Among forms & gift from JICA Malaysia Office

On the 10th September 2015, the selected 15 of us were present at the JICA Office Malaysia at Menara Citibank, KL...
That day mark was the first day all of us meet and get to know each other before hearing a briefing by JICA and JPA...
The session being held by JPA and continue with JICA slot before we end the session with PAMAJA...
During the briefing we need to fill in few documents that mainly for VISA application and others JICA requirements...
We need to apply for the VISA since we were under training not a normal tourist...
Therefore if you were going there on a leisure, there is no need for the VISA application...
During the session we were told to select our group leader...
Hence we decided to choose Amin as our group leader and Ida as his assistant...
Just before the session ends, YLP Okinawa Whats App group was being created...

Discussion on Various Matters (via Whats App)
Since our departure is on 27th September 2015, we had more or less than 2 weeks to prepare for everything...
Right from choosing the committee members until preparing for the "omiyage"...
We do all our discussions via Whats App and in fact we do have an online poll...
The poll was created in order to re-select our group leader as well as others committee members...
Yet again Amin and Ida were chosen by majority to be group leader and assistant group leader...
After few discussions held, we collectively agree to give a frame as our main "omiyage"...
Nisya stood up as a designer and everybody give lots of ideas in making it happen...
I personally love the design that highlights Malaysia's major achievement that is Perdana Putra besides we're proud to share with the fellow Japanese our traditional Songket design...
Besides the frame, all of us were required to ask from our office few others souvenirs as a back up...
Alhamdullilah all of us manage to gather few souvenirs and all set to fly to Okinawa...
We also decided to meet at Departure Hall, KLIA on 27th September 2015 at 0430...

[Road to Okinawa: Part 2] The Result...

On 8th September 2015, while I was driving and stuck along Dengkil road, suddenly I notice that I received one email from JPA personel...
At first I thought that it just a normal email informing on any information in regards with service matters but then I realise that is the email came from BPMI, JPA...
Since the traffic were stuck due to the night market, I managed to click on the eSila link to check on the result...
Then I saw a word in green colour which stated BERJAYA
During that moment I particularly can't digest the word since I don't pinned a high hope on it...
I know the fact that the applicants are thousands and the probability to be selected is quite impossible...
Underneath it, alhamdullilah I'm chosen among the applicants =)
Immediately I show the screen to my lil sis...
Then she literally shout at me saying "You're going to Japan!!!"

Then the journey begin...
The duration of the course is 18 days...
The date is already confirmed...
The departure is two days after Eid-adha celebration...
From the day I got the result to the flying day plus minus less than 2 weeks to make a preparation...
The feeling was still surreal to me...
To be chosen and finally flying to Japan was among my childhood dreams...
Alhamdullilah!!!

A: Applicant need to wait for the offer through JPA eSila website or your Ministry Mailing List (like mine is from MOE Mailing List).

Q: Eligibility to be an applicant?

A: Government officer, must have 3 years completed of performance evaluation and recommended by bosses. Besides, applicant who wish to apply must never visit Japan either personal visit or on official matters.

Q: What are document needed for the application?

A: JPA form, JICA forms (application & medical), job description and personal statement on why you should be selected.

Q: Any documentation shall be submitted either to JPA or Ministry's HR Department?

A: All the documents (i.e: JPA form, JICA forms (application & medical), job description and personal statement) are needed to be submitted to Ministry's HR Department before being forwarded to JPA. In certain Ministries, there will be internal cut off point. This situation depends on which Ministries are you working with.

* Will be updated as soon as the writer gain her memory on the application story *wink*

Ramadhan Kareem 1437H

(Photograph & Edited by Yours Truly)

Today is the 1st Ramadhan 1437H...
1st day to fast...
1st day of having a privilege to go back half an hour early due to latest circular...
1st day to fast with flu & cold...
Above all, my biggest praise goes to Him, the Almighty Allah for the gift to be in this holy month again, alhamdullilah...

P/s: My MBA buddies already start our yearly conversation in FB Messenger. Yeah, it might seem outdated medium of communication but we cherished the moments. From 2009 till now and inshaAllah forever, aamin...
